Saladin 0.1 released

Submitted by mimec on 2011-01-26

Saladin is a new dual-pane file manager for Windows built using the open source Qt framework and native Windows API. The first release already provides most standard file operations known from other file managers, including support for ZIP archives and FTP connections. Saladin is intended to be a simple and lightweight program which is just a front-end for the Windows Shell. It relies completely on shell integration for icons, contextual menus, drag and drop and most file operations. It can also be integrated with third party tools for viewing, editing and comparing files and for command line support.

Saladin requires Windows Vista or newer (including Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008) and will not work with older versions. It has both 32-bit and 64-bit version so you can access your Shell extensions even when using a 64-bit version of the operating system.

This program is free software released under the GPL license and is supported only by voluntary donations. Feel free to express opinions, ask questions, report bugs and request new features using the forums section. You can find the installers and the source code on the downloads page.
